Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG)

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions in India is in charge of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). Its main job is to support good governance and administrative reforms across all government departments and to encourage administration that is focused on the needs of citizens.

The most important goals of DARPG are:

1.Administrative Reforms: DARPG tries to improve the way government works by making it more efficient, open, and accountable. It comes up with policies, guidelines, and frameworks to help public government work better.

2.Redressing Public concerns: DARPG is in charge of handling public complaints and concerns about government services. It runs the platform for the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS), which lets people file complaints and check on their progress online.

3.Right to Information (RTI) Act: DARPG is very important to the implementation of the Right to Information Act, which makes sure that public officials are open and accountable in how they do their jobs. It tells public officials and people how to carry out the RTI Act and gives them help and advice.

4.e-government: DARPG encourages the use of information technology and digital solutions in government processes. It works on making and putting into place e-governance projects to improve service delivery, citizen involvement, and the efficiency of government work.

5.Capacity Building: DARPG works on projects to help government officials build their skills and improve their abilities. It puts on training programs, workshops, and lectures to help them improve their administrative skills and spread the best ways to run a government.

DARPG works with different government offices, state governments, and other interested parties to make administrative reforms easier and make sure that public services are delivered well. It tries to make a government that is responsible, open, and efficient, and that listens to and cares about its citizens.
