SECTION 425 IPC :

Mischief.—Anyone who destroys property or makes a change to it that lessens its value or utility or adversely affects it with the intent to cause, or knowing that he is likely to cause, wrongful loss or damage to the public or to any person, is guilty of “mischief.” 1. explanation The intention of the criminal to harm or inflict loss on the owner of the damaged or destroyed property is not necessary for the mischief offense.
