SECTION 428 IPC : Animal cruelty including the killing or maiming of a 10 rupee animal. Those who harm an animal or animals worth at least ten rupees by murdering, poisoning, injuring, or rendering them worthless are subject to a fine, two years in prison, either type of incarceration, or a combination of the two.
