SECTION 74 IPC : Limit on solitary confinement: When executing a sentence of solitary confinement, such confinement shall never exceed fourteen days at a time, with intervals between the periods of solitary confinement of no less duration than such periods; and when the sentence of imprisonment is longer than three months, the solitary confinement shall never exceed seven days in any one month of the total sentence, with intervals between the periods of solitary confinement of no less duration than such periods.
