Indian Penal Code Section 241:

When the deliverer first possessed the counterfeit coin, he did not know it was counterfeit.

Whoever delivers to another person as genuine, or attempts to induce another person to accept as genuine, any counterfeit coin which he knows to be counterfeit, but which he did not know to be counterfeit at the time he obtained it, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine to an amount which may extend to ten times the value of the coin counterfeited, or with both Illustration. B sells the counterfeit rupees to C, another utterer, who purchases them knowing they are fake. C gives the rupees for the products to D, who receives them unaware that they are counterfeit. After receiving the counterfeit rupees, D pays them out as if they were genuine. D is only punishable under this section, whereas B and C are punishable under sections 239 and 240, respectively.
