SECTION 70 IPC : Fines that can be assessed within six years or while you’re in jail—Death does not release a property from responsibility. The fine, or any portion of it that is unpaid, may be assessed at any time within six years of the sentence’s passing, and if the offender is subject to a longer term of imprisonment under the terms of the sentence, then at any time before the end of that period. The offender’s death does not release any property that would otherwise be held legally liable for his debts from liability.
